Going "Home"
At the request of my mother I am adding a new post, although I'm quite busy. One of the reasons I'm busy is that I'm going to one of my former "homes" this weekend, Bluffton! I'm more excited than I like to admit about returning to a place where I know people like me, are invested in me, and think I'm smart. As evidence that they like me, I've already had a request to help with a workshop and to host a table at breakfast (I'm hoping it's not normal Marbeck breakfast, but it probably will be) I'm also performing my "Women of the Bible" thing, although I volunteered for that, no one requested. I've noticed I get many more laughs with that when it's a group of women. Although sometimes I feel like a one note tune (I'm not sure if that's the expression) anyone it's a bit funny to me that the best thing I've written was written about five years ago now. (Ek!) But maybe it's not the best thing I've written, it's just the most commercial. :) No one wants to hear about theodicy or atonement at a coffee house.
I also started my new job yesterday, which is making me very busy. This week, before leaving for Bluffton, I have to meet with several people I'll be working with on a regular basis to discover what thier "priority" projects are for me. Also I get a lesson on University budgeting and "office proceedures." The meet and greet will continue into next week I think. I've also discovered the joys of a university furnished laptop (yay for jobs that come with computers). I finished an assignment last night on the couch. It also makes me wonder how I survived without it. :)
School is moving much faster than I'd like, well, I take that back, there's just too much work. I have three presentation in the next two weeks. And each is accompanied by a paper, and then I have two more papers due the first week in April. I'm going to be a busy beaver (a la Bluffton) (I will never be a "Royal" no matter how long I go to or work for EMU) Graduation is only six weeks and five days away, not that I'm counting :)
Well, for my mom and anyone else who is wondering if I fell off the face of the earth, I'm here. Life keeps on moving. As some people used to say at Bluffton, "It's all good."

Thanks Laura's mom for applying her mom leverage to a good cause. And yea for new jobs and Bluffton (how I miss it). Lou, please say hi to Lamar and Jeff for me if you see them :)
Lou, You're off the hook for another week or so! Also, see my own new blog entry. It's been a long day of writing. Here's hoping a little of it will end up being "commercial". Otherwise I might as well be stripping wallpaper!
