Body Treason
After sleeping literally 12 hours last night and discovering that 1) I'm still tired, and 2) my glands are swollen, I have come to the inevitable conclusion that I am sick (again). So now I'm sitting in my office (because I don't want to infect everyone else in the study room, never mind that one of them infected me) eating chicken noodle cup of soup, trying to decide if I have the mental capacity to either read Ethics or brainstorm for my feminist theology paper. Deciding I have the capacity for niether, I am writing a blog in the hopes that my synapses will start firing at a rate slightly faster than a slug. So far it's not happening.
Of course, I should not be surprised that I'm sick, given that this is my body's natural reaction to the end of the semester, but usually it happens after semester is over (i.e. every Christmas break for the last five years.) Maybe the homemade mocha (coffee and hot chocolate mix) will kick in soon and I can go back to being a real student. I only have one paper and one project left for the semester (and maybe my entire academic career) and I'm terrified that I won't be able to get them done and instead of a real diploma I'll get something that says "When you have completed the requirements for Feminist Theology and Prayer in the Christian Tradition you will receive your diploma" My body is plotting against me. I just know it. Traitor!
